A tour guide excitedly teaching the youth about Marx and Engels. At the site of the first CPC congress in Shanghai. Super cool to see.

Meanwhile the youth of the USA are taught about the founding fathers: a group of slavers who created a world where they would be at the very top.

Outcome: school shooter capital of the world.

Yup, it really is refreshing to be in a country where not only is Marxism not some huge boogeyman, but is actually revered and taught as something to be proud of. Especially when that country is absolutely thriving and doing much better than every single country in the west.

You will never go on the Marx and Engels tour as a wee little lad sadness

I was a wee little lad in socialist Poland and we never have Marx and Engels tour. Fucking nationalist revisionists didn't even tried to enact any kind of cultural revolution after getting power in 1956 and just went straight back to XIX century nationalism.

European "socialism" taking a big L yet again...

It's a shame really :yea:

That's way too far, it was socialism despite its mistakes, take that back.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yeah my bad, it's just my experience with lots of Euroids... especially Romanians.

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 11 months ago

From my experience, Romanians really tend to misinterpret their socialism too. Sure there were mistakes, maybe (or maybe not) most of all socialist countries, but the results were also undeniable social advancement as everywhere, but for some reason liberal slogans are being peddled everywhere even by current Romanian ML's. Seems strangely similar to Polish information bubble victims who even if really trying to free themselves from it, are being inevitably pushed to ultra positions by the pervasiveness of the bubble which don't have just 99% media coverage but also numerous savety valves into socialdemocracy, anarchism, trotskyism and ultracommunism. Really the only way to get free is to fortunately stumble upon some real info in the English-language internet since that's not censored here, but is still incredibly niche.

Meanwhile guanos are blowing up statues to marx and lenin across the country here in the USA.

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 33 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Lol guanos is a perfect typo for gusanos because they're all batshit.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 23 points 11 months ago

I'll keep the typo since it tracks then lol

I hate to be a party pooper contrarian, but you can do this tour if you’re ever in Chicago. I heartily recommend it and the architecture riverboat tour!

The internationale makes us all human!

[–] woodenghost@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

There is a great walking tour about Marx and Engels life in London. The guide even sang the international for us in front of the pub, where the first international met.
