We know who's got the Stefan Molyneux vote.

[–] jackmarxist@hexbear.net 58 points 3 months ago (6 children)

JD Vance is so comically bad that it's kind of insane that anyone in the republican party agreed to let this guy run.

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 43 points 3 months ago

He wore a name tag that stated he was Peter Thiel's favorite blood boy.

It makes sense if you look at Vance the way they do - as a big sack full of cash. Trump is burning through campaign cash on court fees and lawyers so that was the whole decision

[–] Justice@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 3 months ago

God what I'd give (ok... nothing) to see receipts from Thiel paying for Trump's shit. It's pennies for him anyway. He could drop a $1B and never notice. What an incredible society.

[–] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago

All the reporting points to Elon Musk, and his two kids convincing him to go for JD Vance while he was in shock from the attempted assassination. So I am dying at the thought he listened to his kids and now he is fucked.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I'm happy they did tbh.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

What do Peter Thiel and Elon Musk love so much about him? I don't get the appeal to them.

[–] BabyTurtles@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago

They're all identical types of weird chuds.

[–] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

They're fucking stupid and trump completely alienated himself from the (heavy fucking quotes) "reasonable Republicans" that he had around during the initial presidency

If it wasn't for Biden drop out he would still have a fucking chance too, that's how much of a joke the Dems have been. Idk what's happening anymore though. Here there be monsters, uncharted territory when the Dems start doing politics correctly. It's a bit frightening just from how foreign it feels

[–] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

It was a wink wink nudge nudge to the outright Nazis that are sucking trump off currently and he fucked the hell up

[–] viva_la_juche@hexbear.net 54 points 3 months ago (2 children)

There could scarcely be a worst gop vp pick to go with the whole “chuds are weirdos” thing lol

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 30 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Disagreed. Ben Carson is definitely weirder.

[–] DesertComrade@hexbear.net 39 points 3 months ago

Carson is Joe rogan weird Vance is resident evil villain weird

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 32 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They're both weird, but different types of weird. Carson is strange weird like "wow, okay that's weird." While Vance is gross weird, more of a "ew, that's just weird."

[–] ComradePlatypus@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Carson is the guy at work you’d never hang out with after hours, but time flies because of the bizarre stories he tells. JD Vance is the guy who makes you feel like you dread coming in because he’s so off putting.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Carson is the weird unc at the party who complains all the time. Vance is the unc who you tell your children to stay far away from and especially in secluded areas of the house.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 26 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Counterpoint: Boebert or MTG

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 36 points 3 months ago

Boebert or MTG could at least do the Palin-esque folksy charm thing to blunt the weird. Vance brings the “I’m not legally allowed to live within 500 meters of a school” vibe to the weird.

[–] viva_la_juche@hexbear.net 17 points 3 months ago

I was thinking of MTG that’s fair

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Boebert wins the horny vote for giving a handjob at the theater and having a restaurant themed around being served by women who can physically kill you

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 36 points 3 months ago (3 children)

What are the odds that Trump will outright say that JD Vance sucks at one of his upcoming rallies?

[–] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 32 points 3 months ago

Yeah He will 💯% throw him under the bus when he loses. And it's literally what's he's always done to everyone that worked under him.

[–] BabyTurtles@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago

100%. It's barely been a couple weeks and Trump has already started coping with questions about Vance saying things like "the VP pick doesn't matter, because you're voting for the president and not the VP".

I think that if Dems keep doing well in the polls, Trump might just straight up drop Vance from the ticket.

[–] sweatersocialist@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago

"the guy's a freak. he's gay and his dick is small. it's true folks, i've never even met the guy."

[–] regul@hexbear.net 35 points 3 months ago (2 children)

They're over 500, but "heck of a year" is pushing it.

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That's even better. They are the good ol' workingman's team. No long winning streaks, no world series ambitions. Just a honest ball club playing the game, winning some, losing some.

God forbid we have a Yankees or dodgers fan in the White House. That smacks of liberal coastal elite

[–] LeninsBeard@hexbear.net 18 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

This is a good, honest .500 baseball team. They play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio baseball. They lost a couple, guess what? They won a couple, too. But they never got too excited or let it go to their head. No long winning streaks there, no sir. That's hubris, which that blue collar, hard working everyman team didn't have. A few wins in a row, those guys, true to form, balanced it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that's my 2023-2024 Twins. A good, honest .500 baseball team.

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

Speaking of midwestern baseball teams, one piece of schadenfreude I've been thinking about is if Obama is genuinely an actual fan of the White Sox, he's having a miserable year

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 3 months ago

“Heck of a year” can mean a good year, bad year… or anything in between.

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 31 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Honestly wouldn’t be too surprised to learn that Vance quote was real

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Who is the bootleg Khrushchev?

[–] DrJenkem@lemmy.blugatch.tube 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lol. Kamala's VP pick, Tim Walz. He's the governor of Minnesota.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

Ahhh I see, so that's Walz. I have seen people mention his name but had never seen the man before. Or maybe I have but he's just not that memorable.
