Yes, there are other recommendations, but that particular one made me go full

It can always be worse. I have played maybe one visual novel (Slay the Princess), and I keep getting recs like this:

Honestly laughing at the bizarre porn games that show up in my feed is my favorite thing about steam lately

Me and my friend often start our weekly gaming session by checking what funny things are on the front page. Always a "treat".

CoD Zombies was never good (I played a lot of zombies up through the Moon DLC for BO1)

Halo Firefight was a better survival mode and now that MCC is on PC with mod tools there are some really cool modded versions out

I feel like this is a problem only you have

So you're suggesting Steam's targeted marketing is only targeting me upon login, and that targeting acknowledges that I never bought any of those games before and is sort of doing that just to personally annoy me?

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 19 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Yes. Gabe Newell is personally fucking with your mind palace.

Well I just clicked a button that Steam offered me to switch it from "start on store" to "start on library" so take that Gabe! mission-accomplished

And mine. That said, I did purchase Organ Trail 15 years ago, so maybe I brought this upon myself.

Other people already chimed in with their own similar frustrations, so at this point this is becoming one of those "NO ONE CARES!" things where it's said, paradoxically, in response to people caring.

I personally just ignore ads

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You ignore them until you go out of your way to defend their existence by announcing how utterly unaffected you are, several posts into this thread that otherwise had nothing to do with you. congratulations

You are only mad because you are angry

The "cool apathy internet person that doesn't care about anything, totally, but cares a lot about making sure everyone knows that" thing got old decades ago.

You're boring.

Zombie shit was fun maybe when Resident Evil 2 came out, but that idea then went rampant though entire popculture for like 2 next decades. I dearly hope it finally disappears.

No thanks I only play serious sam

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

That's got to be hard to run backwards that long while shooting guns. sweat

[–] Red_sun_in_the_sky@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Its not. Its pretty great.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Dudes with no heads running at you with bombs while still somehow yelling isn't hard to deal with, either?

[–] Red_sun_in_the_sky@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Uh no. Kamikazes are very easy to deal with.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I was sort of implying a silly scenario where the Serious Sam thing was happening to you in real life. Joke didn't land well.
