cost millions of taxpayer dollars in wrongful death and civil rights lawsuits
Good to see our priorities are straight. Yeah, some lives were lost, BUT THE MONEY!

One time I needed to move from a daily pill to an injection for one of my meds, but by the time we got the prescription and emergency appointment, the pharmacy either had just closed or was about to. Mind you, I was inches from a crisis, like, I was honestly thinking if I couldn't get on the mend that night I was going to need a hospital. Then insurance decided they didn't want to pay for it. Thankfully the doctors were willing to give me a free sample, so I was able to get the injection that evening. It was a rough night, but I was getting better. Also insurance ultimately did start paying, but not until I had used all the free samples they were allowed to give me.
So you'll invite the underrepresented, marginalized folks and share a loving community free from private property; everyone sharing everything freely? Of course we'd like them all to believe in Jesus, but we won't hate them if they don't or try to shove it on them either.
We are this close to entombing our presidents in a golden throne and worshipping them for millenia.
Looking at the lighter squares, I really enjoyed libstick.
I have a vague memory of a spaceship. Maybe i was firing a laser? I remember it being hard at first, but I Got Gud, and as an adult people are impressed with my typing speed.
Maybe in metro areas, but the small town I live in has a game shop that has/had LGBT+ safe space and mask required signs, and apparently people have come in brandishing guns demanding they take them down. Evidently no one ever got hurt, but the vitriol is definitely there. They probably supported Hillary as I bet they're a bunch of libs, but I guess they didn't advertise that.
I agree wholeheartedly. Another fave is calling people one disagrees with "psychotic." But yeah, it is important not to be ableist while criticizing things.
I think they're referring to the description of AI as "hallucinating" its products, but yeah, pretty bad description that further marginalizes an already pretty shat-on group. Was looking for something to say, but you beat me to it.
Which is wild as I know someone going for a masters in social work, but the conditions set by the school says that she can't get below a B more than twice on anything. But sure, we need doctors, so let 'em all in!
CW suicidal thoughts, kind of a long rant
I struggle some with this because when I was young, I was taught to weave together every aspect of who I was with the church, then essentially told every part that was me was evil and rotten while every part that was the church was perfect and unassailable. Trying to separate myself from the church or faith often felt like (and often added up to) suicide. So I've mever really been able to fully separate for those reasons, then add in a psychotic disorder with frequent religious delusions and I'm a mess. I believe in Jesus, but I try to keep away from the science denial and queer-phobia. (personally am trans, but that was a long and painful process of discovery) I also try to let other people believe what they believe. If faith is an opium to me, then I am direly addicted to it with no way out I can see. But I'm trying to still be a good human while believing in a faith that all too often oppresses and suppresses other folks, identities, faiths, and cultures.
I could be remembering wrongly, but wasn't the creature described as being uncannily attractive? Like maybe not conventionally so, but in some indescribable and uncomfortable way?
