privileged question
which countries should I be trying to nudge my family towards if shit ramps up untenably in the states. they're considering the UK primarily atm so I absolutely have to find a different avenue if we are to pack and abscondspoiler
Probably wherever they might have a claim to citizenship.New Zealand had a good program for skilled immigrants (all their young people move to Straya for work), so potentially you could move down there. And Canada is, like, right there across the border. You don't even need a passport if you're a permanent resident if the US or a US citizen. I dunno about moving outside the Anglosphere, but your money might go further anyway
The Anglosphere is generally the best bet as they have the best gender affirming care. Europe is mostly shit, Spain, France and Germany seem to be the better countries here, but e.g. the surgical coverage in Europe is terrible compared to blue US states and some European countries are equivalent or probably even worse than some of the red US states in terms of trans rights and gender affirming care.
From what I've heard the UK is quite awful. Canada, Australia and New Zealand seem to be decent with Canada probably being the best of the three.
