Looking at my hair and what split ends are and my hair looks like it's in rough shape :/ and like it usually is, until recently I didn't really take care of it right. But I really, really do not want to get it cut short and I'm worried they'll have to take a significant amount off. I don't know how I'd cope with having short hair again. It's literally the only thing I like. If someone wants to see a pic to judge/tell me the bad news I can show you.

Istg every time I get a razor out I cut myself π last time it was a bunch of cuts on my legs and this time my face. It feels so awkward. Plus some have scarred. I've been shaving my legs now for like a year why is this still happening...Also I hate shaving my face it's so awful. It's difficult, I'm never really happy at the end, stings like hell, just fuckin sucks. Like I hate watching my leg hair come in, actually shaving it kinda sucks in the way it's a chore I have to do, but at the end I'm usually really happy with it. That's never really the case with my face. At least my hair routine is a lot better then it ever used to be.
If you use disposable/cartridge razors, try some of the pricier ones with at least 3 blades. I used to get cuts all the time with 1/2 blade razors, but itβs been rare since I switched to one with 3. It lasts longer too, just make sure to disinfect with rubbing alcohol between uses.
I've never had smoother with more blades, never works right. Best luck Ive had is fewest blades is best. The 3+ baldes get out of alignment, although an expensive one should ideally not have that much of an issue.
Have you tried epilation on your legs? It won't cut you, and it will last longer.
I feel you about shaving your face. I've just quit tbh because I was never happy with it either. I just use a mechanical razor now. Easier, faster, no cuts, no prep, and it only looks slightly worse than if I went in with a safety razor.
I'm just dealing with the dysphoria and waiting for the laser to kick in.

You dont usually have to cut off all your hair to get the dead ends out, I usually only need to cut an inch off every few months but that's mostly to get the old bleach out lol. If I let it go a year, Id need to trim more than an inch of dead ends
It's been about a year for me, I'm nervous to go because I don't want them to take too much off. There's a trans friendly place kinda close but I need to figure out getting there. An inch or two wouldn't be bad. I'd just be really upset if it's more then that :/
What type of razor do you use to shave? I used to cut myself a lot in the beginning, now with a good double edged razor and good blades I can do full body shave + face with no cuts in an hour or so
