It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to !shitreactionariessay@lemmygrad.ml

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

MODERATORS

Okay the first one of these I get it. But the most attention should be on those removed comments at the bottom of the list. So from the bottom:

What's the purpose of removing a comment asking @MomoTimeToDie@sh.itjust.works what a 'momo' is and why it's 'time to die'? Doesn't that seem like a good fucking question? Why is a mod stepping in on this? If I were a moderator I sure would want to know what's up with that.

What rule is broken by saying their instance is bad? And in reply to a story about naked unashamed bigotry being allowed on it no less.

A smarmy little paragraph calling out someone for being toxic and whining about toxicity in return? Nary an expletive.

And just what the hell is wrong with the comment second from the top?

I feel like bringing your drama from another instance into hexbear isn't helpful. Also, I'm not saying you were wrong, but you were pretty hostile.

There will be a time when we vote on whether to stay federated with them and I feel this post is helpful in the service of that deliberation

I don't think this poster was making any valid points over there. This isn't highlighting as much as you might think. Even though the mod actions were a bit harsh, he was being hostile, which would get a comment removed here too.

Edit: like really, I am ignorant. Is "Momo" slang for an oppressed group that I'm not aware of?

[–] Catradora_Stalinism@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago

actually, it highlights a trend of the sjw mods to be banhappy fucks

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago (3 children)

There are only two contexts in which I've heard the term 'momo'. One is a cartoon monkey. The other is homosexuals.

And I guess now that I google it there's some kind of meme with a creepy drawing

[–] TheWorldSpins@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

The user, I think, just called me a homophobic slur but it was auto-removed. Leaning towards that.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I think that person's name is in reference to the creepy picture. It's one of those zoomer "don't call this number at 3am or you will die!" kinds of clickbait video things that were popular a couple of year ago.

The mods were clearly just deleting all your comments because they don't want you there. Don't waste your time dealing with dipshits like that.

Edit: based on the quality of their other comments here it could be them using a homophobic dogwhistle after all.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

im pretty sure it's just an avatar the last airbender reference.

momo is a pretty edgy individual, but I haven't seen any racism coming from them. Of course if you have examples, please feel free to share them.

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

For context this is the racist piece of shit responsible for the yellow face banner. They moderate that comm.

e: https://hexbear.net/comment/3882488 here they are in this thread having ironic lulz from the guy with the violent hate speech name using slurs against our users.

This is a moderator of the community we just federated with.

[–] goat@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

And again, I'm not racist, and again, it's not racist.

And yes, I do moderate the community! But I haven't removed any of the comments you listed, those are from a different community, wasn't me.

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

With all possible disrespect, I'm talking about you not to you.

Did this kinda shit get a lot of upvotes on Reddit back in the day?

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

You immediately assumed we were discussing you, when we mentioned racism on your dogshit Reddit wannabe instance. Interesting that you would assume discussions of racism are about you just-a-theory

[–] mah@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

that's my opinion as well.
