Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

most business owners might try to appear politically neutral publicly (as a means of avoiding controversy that might affect their business)

It constantly surprises me how many businesses have abandoned this principle in the Trump era. There's a new shop in my town that erected a huge sign that says, "Vote out the corrupt Democrats in all 50 states!". This is in a town that voted 71% for Hillary Clinton in 2016. I don't understand a business owner that would try so hard to get the majority of residents to avoid their business.

Businesses found out about spite consumption. Same reason that a relatively low amount of chuds can consistently get shite country music up the lists.

They have a much better chance to get chuds in by virtue signalling to then than trying to be bland and pry people away from wallmart or whatever.

We had a friend chicken business in town that was putting up cooker conspiracy posters and placards for the antivax party during the worst of covid, I stopped going there immediately. Who knows what kind of other shit they thought was government overreach, like wearing gloves while cooking my food or something. Yuck.
