Yes, they're not giving out details for privacy reasons but Matt suffered some sort of an emergency. Announcing that for the time he's on leave indefinitely doesn't sound great but I hope he recovers.
I don't want to speculate out of respect but many parts of that announcement make it sound exteemely serious, I feel like throwing up.
Yeah, though also a "normal" emergency gives me hope. Really hoping it's just something like an appendix, etc.
I think it's a "he's not shidding out his doodoo ass" joke because they thought Matt would appreciate it. "Cautiously optimistic" and "promising signs" is the type of languange when you're hoping someone regains consciousness I feel. Either way hoping for the best.
Sounds like Matt is unconscious, with Amber on their announcement saying "awh he would love that" to Chris saying he would release the Spanish Civil War series that him and Matt were working on, as Matt was proud of it. That's not the kind of thing you would say if he was just in pain but able to be spoken to lucidly, and it sounds like the accident happened on Tuesday. Don't think you're normally unconscious/non-lucid for 4 days from an appendix and the associated surgery
Well who knows really. He could be in a condition where he's conscious, but shouldn't be talking, or can't communicate well.
In any case, we don't really need to speculate. Just hope he gets well.

Do we know if their kid was born without incident? I knew they were due soon and my first worry was that something happened to the baby.
Edit: Nevermind me, I hadn't read the text of the announcement, guess Matt got got.
His wife is due to have their baby this Sunday, but this accident is unrelated and hospitalized Matt
Yeah, I'm not gonna speculate either but you can infer 2 or so likely conditions and none of them are the sort you bounce back from in a week.
