So I can remember being peripherally aware of the fartlow saga, like I remember that she was a hardcore 'lock necklace' Zionist and might have said something transphobic, but anyone care to catch me up on/remind me how it all started? It's all lore I was to busy for at the time

lock necklace' Zionist

What is this? Is it some awful reference to Palestinian house keys?

yes, in 1948 when they were driven out many Palestinians brought their house keys, expecting to return. those keys have been passed down as heirlooms and symbols, often worn as necklaces. so it's a really disgusting cynical way for Zionists to mock the Nakba

That reminds me. Smart locks and IoT garbage marketed at landlords is really popular in Israel. In case someone wants fertile ground for their pentesting consultancy.

Also wondering about this!? I'm suddenly rethinking every hot person with a lock and chain necklace I've ever seen; I assumed it was bdsm but maybe not?

sometimes its just cute

Not necessarily. Sometimes, a lock necklace also symbolizes romantic love.
