the CW is probably still warranted but I wouldn't say that it's THE N-word
As I mentioned previously: It is a dated slur. It is one of the forms of the N-word.
The Chinese didn’t mean it as a slur back then since it was a common word to refer to black people, but nowadays, it is a slur.
