Not very gender but holding my snake is very autism and comforting. Watching him look around, feeling him move through my fingers, very nice
I think he might already be in shed again, his colors are very muted and he's been acting like he normally does in shed. He's still as chill as ever though.
My wife visited a place in Spain once where she got to hold a 20-footer boa constrictor, which is fuckin awesome. Therefore snakes are gender
I've only ever held garter snakes (and a tarantula once) but big snakes rock!!!
That's awesome! Coolest reptiles I've held were a baby alligator (maybe 2 and a half/3 feet long?) and a 10~ foot dwarf reticulated python. I really need to find someone with something bigger and get all wrapped up
You need to hold more!
That's fuckin sick waow. Was the alligator heavy? That's super cool, and yeah snakes big enough to coil around your waist
I would like to!!!!
Not super heavy? Still very cool to interact one on one with one. They already let me hold one bigger then they usually let people do but I crave the danger. Oh its incredible, even at "only" 10 feet she was big enough to wrap around my torso completely.
I gotta respect that. Also I love that you hold crocs and gators, rad.
More people need to know how cool snake wrapping is!!!
It took 3 people to lift that large snake, I had it across my shoulders lol it's head was massive.
Neat!
Sorta snake?
He's an adult California kingsnake! Very easy to care for, very tolerant, and more active then a lot of other snakes. Great pet, get one!
Shit that sounds dope. Always wanted some sorta reptile but no room.
One of those big ass monitor lizards would be neat, especially to walk around the neighborhood on a leash. Though I don't have nearly the knowledge, time, or space for an animal like that. That being said a snake is probably a bit easier lol.
Also, unrelated, but kinda funny how saying you have a fish or bird for a pet is normal, and while saying you've got a reptile is a bit vague, yet telling people you keep mammals is nearly useless.
A big monitor is one of my dream reptiles! But yea, a lot of demands. A sharp contrast to snakes, being one of the easiest pets imo. Depends on the species a little.
That is really funny, I like contrasting the ways people talk/think about different kinds of pets. I should start saying I keep mammals
I want a pet snake one day, but they also kinda scare me. I’d get over it.
You would, especially something smaller like a king or corn snake. He looks way scarier then he is, total softie.
I don’t think it’ll hurt me, there’s just a slight visceral evolutionary mechanism.
I get the same way about spiders tbh, very understandable.
