I know there was a thread like this just yesterday, but IT WASN'T THAT BAD? MA'AM YOUR CHILD FUCKING DIED, HOW MUCH WORSE CAN IT GET?

"Do you still feel the same way about the MMR vaccine versus measles and the proper treatment with Dr Ben Edwards?" To which the mother firmly responded: "We would absolutely not take the MMR [vaccine]. The measles wasn't that bad. [The other children] got over it pretty quickly. And Dr. Edwards was there for us."

[the other children] note :agony-shivering:

There is this idea roaming around that things might have to get worse before someone who voted a particular way might have something occur to them where a possible point of self-realization might happen.

I'm, in a perverse way, happy to see this story. As it proves that type of thinking does **not ** happen.

As a sort of aside, I'm almost jealous. It's as if this mom is fully self-realized. And / or has been for quite some time. I'd say her therapist would be proud of her, but... well... I mean, who's taking bets on if this lady has a therapist?

The serf/peasant mindset of a good third of Americans is just crazy. Why do they have such insane mindset about protecting the fetus (ie. against abortion) when they treat their kids like this?!

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

It was never about protecting the fetus, it was always about controlling women

it killed 20% of your kids. That's a pretty bad batting average. No matter what you believe the vaxx side effects are, it can't be worse than DEATH

Better dead than autistic!

Dead kids won't continue to live at home in their 30s, getting in the way of your epic retirement plan to get norovirus on a cruise or "investing" in the automobiles that were popular when you were in high school.

part of the negotiation that christofascists are currently having with the state is the balance between state interest in children and private ownership of children. they are attempting to transition the currently negotiated settlement of rights between those two entities, which is already very much weak for the state, even more entirely under the legal purview of heads of households. that is, they are genuinely attempting to reestablish the most literal Roman rights of ownership. it's not just about despising children, it's not just about being able to treat your children as nonhumans. it's about establishing the stricter and more interpersonally violent hierarchies of control that they believe will stabilize society, and they are psychologically hardening themselves against basic human empathy in order to realize that goal.

Parent's rights just means "the right to treat your children like animals (which are lesser than humans)"

Basically wanted to say this. CHUDs and Americans in general fucking despise children, I got some of the weirdest looks once when I advocated that children should have their own rights.
