really sucks they name that field generator after him in 20,000 years
His name was first thing cogitator returned after being asked about "demon"
Uri Geller was already the worst person. Truly, his gift of being a piece of shit is a form of magic itself
Do NOT get in a psychic duel with Allah he is too powerful!
The username is too on the nose for this to not be satire.
I think you'd need to know when this was posted, there's both good and bad feminist movements trying to reclaim this sort of language by this point
i recall it being satire but a bunch of the... was it witches vs patriarchy? users appeared to take it seriously.
i like to imagine this guy "stopping" greta by bending her spoons while trying to eat soup but having no other way to stop her so now greta is soupless and mildly inconvenienced but still goes to gaza undeterred
Undetected by the Israelis - an intrepid reporter in a wetsuit somehow snuck onto the ship as it was moving. After he dries off he interviews Greta in the galley.
Intrepid reporter: "So, Greta - how are things?"
Greta: "I am soupless and mildly inconvenienced but we continue onward undeterred."
Intrepid reporter: "Soupless?"
Greta: "Uri Geller - the 'I can bend spoons with my mind' individual - is apparently capable of long-distance telekinesis. My spoons have been rendered inoperable."
Intrepid reporter: "Um... I can't tell if you're joking or not."
Greta: "I would not joke about such things."
She simply picks up a fork and starts eating a salad, rendering him powerless
Greta drinks directly from the soup bowl
I'm picturing a looney toons-esque scenario where she keeps taking a spoonful and he keeps bending it, dumping out the soup each time, then accelerating until the bowl is empty. Maybe in a fury she dunks her head in the pot and slurps it up directly.
Does anyone live in this fake state who isn't a fraud, pedophile, nazi or grifter?
but fake state full of pedos and grifters gets billions in bombs and ammo, very healthy!
The only person I'd take seriously there is that fresh wizard in the blue
He looks ready to rock down to Electric Avenue and play basketball in an Arby's
Uri Geller to post
I'm too lazy to photoshop an alakazam at a computer, but you get the idea
Close enough?
:james-randi-shining:
side quests (those refugees. they rescued)
and now mini bosses?
what an adventure
Here's the neat thing Uri. She's trying to feed people in Gaza, so how about you shut the fuck up
Why is it that the worst people live for so long? I thought he was dead for some reason
This is like the kid who got caught pissing in a urinal with his pants around his ankles challenging you to a fight after school.
A 90's era new age grifter is a right winger? No way!
I forget who said it, but "when I die, I want to be cremated and to have someone blow my ashes into uri gellars eyes"
James Randi
Though he remained a dyed-in-the-wool rationalist to the last, Mr. Randi did have a contingency plan for the hereafter, as he told New Times in 2009. “I want to be cremated,” he said. “And I want my ashes blown in Uri Geller’s eyes.”
It's from his NYT obit which I'm about to read now.
Unfortunately, Randi was a rabid social Darwinist^[https://archive.ph/CN5l9], climate denier, and unserious grifter.
Amazing
I'm genuinely curious what these Zionists fear the boat is going to achieve? You'd think it had an armed nuclear warhead on board by how much they are freaking out about it.
Honestly? I genuinely believe they want the Palestinian people to feel they've been rejected and abandoned by the world; I recall seeing Israelis singing at Palestinians that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries abandoned them. They want Palestinians to lose any shred of hope; it's not enough for them to kill and torture them, they want to completely kill them mentally and spiritually; they're waging a war against literally every human aspect of Palestinians they can.
I recall a now infamous podcast episode by an Israeli duo called 'two nice Jewish boys' where one of them (who worked closely with Netanyahu) was saying it means everything to Israelis to know they're living their best lives while Gazans are experiencing hell on earth; that aspect, that Gazans are suffering while their lives (Israelis) are great, makes them extremely content.
I wish people like this would receive even one percent of the pain they inflict on others to come back to them
I thought he was dead? The Magnificent Seven was like 65 years ago.
I googled. He's 78.
joke explanation
Yul Brynner is a deceased actor who starred in the Magnificent Seven (1960).
His name is only barely similar (yu-noise at start -er sound at end).
The joke is Uri Geller is both so insignificant and I'm so old, I'm mistaking him for a famous but long dead star of the silver screen.
I too am old. But younger I suspect. Still - I couldn't remember a single actor in that movie even though there are at least seven leads. Wikipedia lists the stars as...
- Charles Bronson
- Yul Brynner
- Horst Buchholz
- James Coburn
- Steve McQueen
- Robert Vaughn
- Eli Wallach
Six of them I saw all the time on tv in the 1970s when I was a boy. But I have no idea who Horst Buchholz is. What the heck. I surely watched at least parts of the movie a few times. But that was the fat-back era of tv and all movies were ruined because they were "edited for tv", scan-and-pan, and jammed full of commercials. I've never seen it in its pristine form. Westerns aren't my thing at all but all this nostalgia means I'm going to look for a torrent.
But younger I suspect.
No that's also actually part of the bit I'm not that old either. Just feels old transitioning at my current age.
But the Magnificent Seven is a real hoot without ads or editing. I watched it with my grandfather I think when I was a kid on VHS. Obviously it's a rip-off of Seven Samurai by Kurosawa. But that movie rules so that's fine.
No that's also actually part of the bit I'm not that old either.
Well, how dare you - young lady. In all seriousness things have been a nostalgic for me recently. At another site I posted about the first mixtape I made when the word wasn't even invented yet. And yesterday I posted a vid of a kid with a skateboard getting tear gassed by the pigs but he showed tremendous resolve by very slowly walking away and then equally slowly turning around and giving them the finger. I wonder if he was in pain and/or puked after that.
Something twigged in my memory. In the Mesozoic I must have seen a similar but super-tame fictional version of a kid facing off against the cops. The kid surely didn't give them the bird. He must have only gotten the last word. Reality hits so much harder. I saw "Mesozoic" in post by Heather Thomas. She was the stuntwoman on the Fall Guy.
Ninja edit. I preset my oven. I remembered I have Stouffer's Spinach Soufflé in my freezer. It reminds me of 1970s and more so the 1980s. It's a comfort food and I need a break from my doomscrolling of pigs on parade in LA. I want to be optimistic but things just get worse and worse.
I wish I could pop his head ala Scanners
Lmao what a fucking pillock
Just because James Randi is dead doesn't mean we don't remember his debunk experiments with this idiot.
