tiling is so nice. for me it's like, I prefer a mouse oriented workflow on my PC, I'm often just leaned back in my chair with one hand on the mouse and I'm pretty snappy at flinging windows around at 1500dpi. on a laptop I'm the complete opposite, like to avoid using the mouse as much as possible so i3 is perfect.
yea i still prefer i3 on my laptop but on a decently powerful desktop probably never looking back from Plasma
hehe, GNOME has impressed me recently too, helped my gf install Ubuntu on her laptop a while ago and it's super smooth these days. personally prefer Plasma's workflows and customisability though
yeah it rocks. Plasma is so polished, really impressed by it constantly
i haven't used Mint but have heard a lot of good things about it. i switched to Fedora on my main machine (specifically Nobara cause i wanted gaming stuff out of the box for convenience). i think both are generally meant to be good and stable so a good choice coming from windows. choice of DE is probably gonna affect your day to day experience more, personally I'm loving KDE Plasma and think it's the perfect choice for ex windows users.
i found endeavor to be nicer than Manjaro but tbh I'm at the stage where i just recommend installing arch. it's gotten a lot easier. endeavor is also arch based though so I'd go with that if you want super easy install / extra stuff installed ootb
for sure I'm hot as hell and it would probably diminish a lot of my hangups (fuck you Catholicism)
it's totally up to you. i decided at some point that I was happy IDing as one based on my doggirlness, and then later started to appreciate the art and stuff too. i still don't have a sona or whatever just general dog vibe. it's just a very nice, welcoming queer centric scene. there's no hard definition or requirements as others have said.
not advising this but what i do is get blackout drunk and it normally goes pretty well
