Nah, you don’t understand so many Dems out there. There’s some wild Democrats who think the party is already far too left for them, that think that Palestinians are the ones who want genocide against Israelis, that the poors are getting too uppity. Way too many ‘moderate Dems’ out there to break the party should they push to left.

Both things are true at once. The party is ultra rightist, but there are significant numbers of Democrats who are either former republicans or "moderates", and basically have their political identity based around being "enlightened centrists" who are supposed to be to the right of the dems and left of the gop.
