I exactly understand your position. I am 78 years old and this Cybertruck (Robot) is my first Tesla. My wife has been telling me for years exactly what the new truck has been telling me. I tend to wave my hands when I’m speaking. I am drawn to the screen to modify settings, radio stations, and the like. Full Self Driving scolded me, particularly during our first several-hour trip when it shut off FSD for the last 1/2 hour. I suddenly became responsible for the Cybertruck steering wheel, accelerator, and brake. WAKE UP time for me.

Boy I love that there are millions of people like this who are allowed to pilot huge death machines!

I have taken 14 hour shifts driving a car down empty ass highways in the sticks with clear signage and road markings in excellent weather in summer with adaptive cruise control & lane centering and I still didn't take my hands off the wheel or foot off the pedal because that's how driving works. This fossilized menace cries because his car asks him to pay attention to the controls

say-the-line-bart-1

say-the-line-bart-2 We love our CT and feel truly blessed to own it.

Every single time with these bootlickers.

I would pay infinite money for a dog as loyal as Tesla owners.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago

I would make them pay me!

Bunch of sunk cost whales

[–] FuckyWucky@hexbear.net 47 points 2 months ago (2 children)

they have money for a cybertruck, just pay for uber

[–] Tom742@hexbear.net 30 points 2 months ago

Love how an ambulance is out of reach of even wealthy cyber truck owning seniors, lol

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Seriously, having a chauffeur might be just as much

Rich people love being called "job creators" but they refuse to create jobs

[–] Wolfman86@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Damn millenials expecting rich people to provide jobs for them.

Also would appreciate not getting negative feedback on using FSD. Just wanted to express my opinion.

using FSD is an action, not an opinion

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 28 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"I want to share my opinion but I do not want to hear your opinion"

[–] miz@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago (1 children)

he only wants to discourage negative feedback, so you can still tell him how cool he is

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

No see it's a fact he's cool so that's not an opinion and is therefore totally allowed

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Going to start using this as a signature on all of my posts

[–] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

We need to request having Lemmy add signature support

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 40 points 2 months ago (1 children)

two paragraphs complaining about the bazingamobile

we love our CT and feel truly blessed to own it at this stage in our lives

So these dorks have a script they have to follow? Is there something in the terms and conditions of owning a cyber truck that says you have to end every mention of it with "still love the truck though"?

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 2 months ago

It's the sunk cost fallacy in action. No one wants to admit they spent 6 figures on a shitmobile that runs worse than a car they bought in the 80s.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 39 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This person needs their license revoked

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago

All the talk in the post about FSD being put in "jail" mode, when I was just thinking "this MF should be in jail"

[–] AnExcellentSteelHorse@hexbear.net 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How do these people accept a world where their car puts them in timeout?

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 26 points 2 months ago

They paid a lot of money for it, therefore it's a cool thing that isn't terrible at all!

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 34 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's gonna rule when some 90 year old with medically thinned blood crashes one of these and they just explode like a giant Paul Verhoeven movie squib

[–] D61@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago

Tesla markets this as a feature of Cybertrucks, factory installed crematorium and "Viking Funeral" mode.

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 33 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I want to live in the world where no one has to drive. This is the shitty liberal microdose version for that. It should be cool that technology has given these people increased autonomy and mobility

[–] chungusamonugs@hexbear.net 32 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Thought he meant he was taken to jail for using FSD and was disappointed that be wasn't.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 2 months ago

Right!! Thought they were saying they were driving so poorly even with FSD they got put in jail

[–] niph@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] miz@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

make sure not to think about it the next time you pull out of your driveway!

[–] niph@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Luckily for me I don’t need to drive, but horrified that these cranks are allowed on the roads at all

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago

My father in law is almost 80 with a bad heart and has shit vision. He's driving around in a massive dodge 2500 pulling a fifth wheel RV for half the year, it's great

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 26 points 2 months ago

Still love the truck though.

PS - I have run over 4 children in the last 6 months using FSD to go to church group and CVS. Whoopsie Doozle! Pastor says I am 4given.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago (2 children)

You had money for a cybertruck, but don't have 2k for an ambulance ride?

[–] ProletarianDictator@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

Not after buying the cybertruck

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Or even 30 bucks for an uber

[–] Weedian@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago

Just take the access bus jfc. 80 year olds shouldn't be driving at all let alone trying to manage a bazingamobile "full self driving" where you had better be paying attention and ready to take over at any time because it's less than 2 seconds away from crashing at all times

[–] TrashGoblin@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Still love the truck, though.

Tesla doesn’t understand driving. They are run by a bunch of sissy boys and Karens. I am appalled at the so called attention monitoring system and sick of its false positives. The camera in the cab was a mistake.
