Imagine China leading a "Pacific Rim Defense Alliance" and would get Mexico to join it and them arms them. The US would invade Mexico in a heartbeat.

I tried to argue that this is the equivalent for the situation with Ukraine and Russia but people wouldn't hear of it.

Note how this "region" arbitrarily include India and Mongolia and goes through half of Indian Ocean, but how Americas and Russian Far East are lava apparently. This is cartography stupider than even the African borders, even Treaty of Tordesillas was closer to grass touching than this.
