The DNC campaigning to the right of Trump wasn't on my bingo card. Even if their actions are right-wing, they usually at least pretend to be pro-immigrant. visible-disgust

Yeah it is truly wild to see them boast about being more fascist on issues like this than Trump.

I feel vindicated at least for having been telling these fucking shitlibs for over a decade that these parties are nearly identical in practice.

It's truly just vibes. Bread and circuses, kabuki theatre, smoke and mirrors, the man behind the curtain. As long as they feel like they are doing something, they're satisfied.

It’s like they’re trying to pull a Dugin.

“Actually, the problem with westerners is that they are not fascist enough!

I pray that they are cynically doing opportunism to dupe people into working with them but I know that’s not happening.

They are really going after Republican voters aren't they? I couldn't watch it but every guest I've seen pictured looks like they're wearing a costume to appeal to whom the Dems think is the "moderate" Republican base.

What i don't get is how anybody who's still a 'left as they come' liberal would see this and not see what the DNCs embrace of Republicans means? Going forward, their "big tent" party is gonna have a lot of (D)Republicans inside!

What do they thinks gonna happen? That these republicans will be tossed aside like scabs when they've served their purpose? Do they actually think the DNC will want to accommodate them, the leftists of their party, over the new voters the DNC is courting right now? Can't they put together by how the party treated those to their left, where their party wants to go?

It just makes me crazy to see these junkies in their hopium haze

The goal of fuckers like the Lincoln Project and blue neocons like Anthony Blinken and Samantha Power was always to functionally make the post-Trump Democrats into the pre-Trump Republicans with slightly different messaging

....and Republicans still won't vote for a Democrat. I have no idea who these Republicans are that, 8 years after Trump's takeover of the GOP, don't have blind loyalty to the party. No one who voted for Trump in 2016 after his "When you're a celebrity they let you do it" comment is going to change their mind now.

My only conclusion has to be Democrats are deliberately moving to the right with Trump as an excuse. They intentionally do this because their loyalty is to capitalism.

There's probably a low 3-digit number of "never Trump Republicans" in the entire country, and they're all either former office holders turned talking heads, former office holders selling godawful memoirs called some bullshit like "the sanctity of patriotism over despotism" that they didn't actually write and nobody will ever read that are still on the NYT best sellers list somehow, dogshit op-ed writers trying to pull the Dems further right than they voluntarily will run towards, or some combination of the above. American voters are broadly politically incoherent and dumb as fuck as a given, but I'm pretty confident there are more senile geriatric voters writing in Ronald Reagan in any given election than Trump➡️Biden voters that the DNC are perpetually cynically triangulating towards at the behest of their donor base. American Maoist Third Worldists are probably a bigger constituency than "never Trump Republicans" lmao

Now I think I understand why chuds are so smug, they’re used to the idea that anyone who disagrees with them is someone who want to be reactionaries in their hearts, but have currently failed.

But thank you democrats for being ineffectual buffoons and proud of it, it just makes radicalizing disillusioned liberals that much easier.

[-] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

It's entirely why reactionaries think virtue signaling is real and get mad at idpol. But because they're derpshits, they come to the wrong conclusions despite recognizing the contradictions.

He makes it sound like Trump is doing a 'Steven Seagal: Lawman' type show
