Did one of the movies have Dredd realize they were on the wrong side of things or am I thinking of a totally different franchise?

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, because there's only two Dredd movies and nothing like that happens in either one. The Stallone movie doesn't really even portray the judge system as explicitly bad.

Stallone

lmao, I might be thinking of Demolition Man.😅

I might have egg on my face here, but was Demolition man satire?

Not really

The OG writer was a boot boy who basically has only written for cop tv shows, the guy who rewrote the script claimed it was apolitical and said it was not trying to say anything about "political correctness."

Kind of, like it was definitely supposed to be a commentary on society, but I can't really remember how well it committed to anything.

I figured it was libertarian madman ravings, its primary stance seemed to be anti-PC to me

I mostly laughed at it whole watching

You're probably right. ngl, it's been a while and I've apparently combined some of it with Dredd in my head. So I'm probably not the best person to ask about it. I did watch They Live! a few months ago and can definitely recommend that.
