lol one time I had a college classmate give a speech about his family escaping communism. He seemed Latino so by his age I thought maybe he meant his family was from Nicaragua, but it turns out he was Brazilian and immigrated to the US in 2004

I did let out a surprised, confused gasp when he mentioned he was Brazilian if that counts
