I truly wish I could but I'm too fucking tall to enjoy bathtubs angery

[–] Florn@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

My knees get cold poking out of the water

[–] SovietBeerTruckOperator@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Just get a cup and constantly dump water on yourself

You get a bigger douse of water flowing over you, you have more direct control of where the water runs over you. In a bath you can add nice salts and oils that smell nice and are good for you skin, can't do that with a shower head. Also while you're dumping water on yourself your feet and legs are getting a nice warm soak.

Okay, I can see the appeal. I think I'd still have the shower running. Get things ankle deep and then run hot water in via the shower just for steam and heating the room up enough that being wet and naked wouldn't make me too cold.

I don't shower or bathe because that's not trad and only women do that. So I do the manly retvrn thing and take a dust bath like a chinchilla.

Actually trad Vikings managed to seduce British women away from their stinky ass nerd men with how well they were groomed and how regularly they bathed.

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 6 points 1 week ago

I am now envisioning a Chad type, just standing there looking all grizzled and stoic when, just like a chinchilla, he just drops and rolls.

I used to take baths like every single day, sometimes twice. But over the years my landlord has replaced the old powerful water heater with a weak one that barely produces hot water, unless you run it extremely slow. They also put in the most uncomfy light on the planet, so unless I bring a ton of candles it's like trying to relax on a hospital hallway. I barely take baths nowadays because the experience is so much worse than what I used to be, but it's still nice as an occasional thing.

tl;dr: fuck landlords

Aint nonthin better than gettin high and takin a nice bath.

Also, baths are a good cure for paranoia from weed. Just a nice calming sensation to help you center

i am too large of a human for the small ass tub at my home kitty-cri

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago

I've got a tub with a 14-inch soaking depth in my garage that I'm putting in next week. I can't fucking wait.

Every Saturday morning I eat some breakfast, smoke a joint, and have a nice long bath to soak away the week's work. Really relaxing way to start the weekend.

I am a hundred feet tall and there is no tub in the neighborhood to chill in

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Another thing I’d recommend: take out the built-in stopper mechanism in the tub, use a drain strainer or tub shroom when showering and then use a stopper disc when taking a bath. You’ll get way fewer clogs that way.

what if you like pulling out those 2ft hair worms?

[–] trabpukcip@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Bought a house with a bathtub in it 4 years ago. Yet to take a bath in it.

Do it for @LuigiMaoFrance@lemmy.ml, who hasn’t a tub because they are a renter! 😭

[–] Beaver@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

I would love to... if I weren't an ice giant

A shower by nightlight with some music isn't too bad either.

Maaaan you beat me to it, same image popped into my head when I read this. But prior to nihilist arrival, that whole vibe is pretty appealing.

If I had the money I'd totally find and install a tub that can fit tall people

Fuck yeah! Get some epsom salt with lavender too, and Neutrogena rainbath oil and put it in there, I feel smooth as a baby's bottom after I come out of a steamy soak with that stuff.

[–] DengistDonnieDarko@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

every tub I've ever had, including the one in my current place, has been too small for me to comfortably use. I'm simply too tall and large, there's not enough room for me. it's actually very depressing because chilling in a bath sounds awesome, and I can't do it.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

I'm short and have had the same experience

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Maybe if mine gets resurfaced, but as of now even with the best of cleaning intentions mine looks like the surface of the moon.

[–] Meltyheartlove@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

I have been in one like once at a motel doggirl-cry

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Since we're all complaining. The hot water always gets cold faster than I'd like and it's always uncomfortable being in that transitionary period cold sitting water and hot water as it's coming in. Mostly just due to bad plumbing or heat retainment or something.

Otherwise also enjoyed baths and reading there with some music.

[–] SummerIsTooWarm@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

No, bathtubs are dysphoria machines catgirl-cry

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

I've only used a bath a few times as an adult and it was with Epsom salts to get over muscle pain and it was alright I guess. I just don't really enjoy sitting in my own soup that much otherwise ig

Bath salts and bath oils or bath bombs comrade, changed my life

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

I would barely fit and it would be super uncomfortable

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

neh.. always found baths kinda gross

[–] worlds_okayest_mech_pilot@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is 100% a skill issue on my part, but I was never able to relax fully in a bath just because of how quiet it is compared to a shower. I'm so used to the constant splashing of the showerhead water. Hearing nothing but my soft splashes echoing in my bathroom feels weird to me somehow, idk why. shrug-outta-hecks

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah showers are great cos there's so much going on. You can stick your face in the stream at full power or like spin around. In a bath you're just stuck there with your thoughts worried that if you fall asleep you'll drown.

[–] Carl@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Every time I go to take a bath, I get it nice and warm and bubbly and get a book/laptop and then I get in and remember within five minutes why I never take baths because I'm so uncomfortable maybe its cuz I don't have a large enough tub

Happy caik day, tovarshi

[–] WoodScientist@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Thanks. I took a bath tonight because of this post.
