As much as I dislike Mr. Beast and his voyeuristic style of "charity", helping cure blind people is universally seen as a good thing, fucking bozo.
I refuse to watch bill maher but if I had to bet money on what the video is, I suspect the text beneath bill maher in the screen shot is sarcastic, and he's making the smuglord left-punching point that we should be thankful for the voyeuristic capitalist philanthrope and his exploitative shenanigans, and that criticism of said shenanigans is fun-hating hysteria.

If it's the latter than my hot take is that this would make him morally superior to 99% of philanthropy that has existed in the contemporary era since write offs for business' expenses aren't nearly as generous as the write offs for NGO based charity.
