shoutout to Tesla for somehow cultivating a worse driver population than BMW

[-] SoyViking@hexbear.net 20 points 8 months ago

They can't be as bad as Audi owners. Audiots are the worst motorists on the road.

[-] polskilumalo@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 8 months ago

My brother, have you every seen a BMW? Motherfuckers look like either they lack blinker fluid or didn't buy the optional directional light package at all.

[-] SoyViking@hexbear.net 12 points 8 months ago

I know that BMW drivers are problematic but most of them are just dumb dudes who stumbled into some money. Audi is the car of the vicious and entitled bourgeoisie, those who feel they own the road as much as they feel they own their employees. They combine horsepowers with entitlement and class hatred. And for some reason they install a powerful magnet in the front licence plate of every Audi, resulting in the damn things constantly being a few millimetres from the car in front of them.

In before Audi decides to use quantum locking to tailgate dean-smile

In my part of Copenhagen, there are quite a lot of Teslas driving around, and I gotta say, it warms my heart to see just how diverse the bazinga-drivers have become in recent years. Most of them are of course pasty white nerds driving around staring at the big-ass ipad in the center-console, but more and more I begin to see the successful young professional class of immigrants/brown people also driving and staring at the big-ass ipad.

Surprisingly large amount of them in Stockholm are contractors using them as company cars. Fairly common that a project manager for plumbing or whatever shows up in a Tesla now.

How do they compare to Mustang owners?

[-] Xx_Aru_xX@hexbear.net 19 points 8 months ago

the stereotype for Mustang owners is that they run over crowds

[-] sir_this_is_a_wendys@hexbear.net 5 points 8 months ago

That's just the truth though 🤔

[-] Teekeeus@hexbear.net 6 points 8 months ago

oh shit sounds like the range rover drivers have some competition

[-] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 57 points 8 months ago

how dare you not gradually nudge the car out of its lane. Dude isn't watching, you coulda just sent him on a journey into the woods forever

[-] jonne@infosec.pub 34 points 8 months ago

You probably need something like a Hummer to nudge that thing. It's obnoxiously huge and heavy.

[-] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 37 points 8 months ago

You don't even have to touch it, the sensors will dodge it out of the lane to prevent you from hitting it.

[-] TimeTravel_0@hexbear.net 55 points 8 months ago

Fill a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide and salt then spray it all over his car

[-] PostyourJaggaHogs@hexbear.net 46 points 8 months ago

If you showed this to me 4 years ago and told me it was a shot from a movie or something I would have told you it was too on the nose

[-] Riffraffintheroom@hexbear.net 45 points 8 months ago

In the book Snow Crash people who use VR while functioning in public are called “gargoyles” and are universally despised and mocked as try-hard dorks. It’s pretty neat to see at least one thing from the sci-fi I grew up on come true.

[-] kickit@hexbear.net 12 points 8 months ago

only thirty years too early

[-] bigboopballs@hexbear.net 2 points 8 months ago

My sources say the death penalty, for espionage, being considered for the guy driving in a Tesla while using a Vision Pro headset.

I am pro-life and take no pleasure in reporting this.

If that's the Apple headset then he can see through it. Still probably just as if not more distracted than someone fucking with music on their cell phone tho.

[-] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 months ago

They can see through it, and it doesn’t work while on a moving subway, according to a video I saw yesterday, so I fail to see how it would work in a car. At least for now.

(You can do stuff with it while stationary, but when you start to move the content stays static and drifts away, then tells you it doesn’t work while moving. Jury is out of it would work on a plane. This makes sense because the thing locks what you are doing into place so you can look around and whatever.)
