Honestly, this lady is in the same category as people like Mr. Bonerelli. Just a dancing clown for imperialism and genocide. Quite literally profiting off an ongoing genocide by willfully lying and creating rage bait content. She's far more successful than him, imo, but it doesn't really matter in the end. Both pieces of shit, both will be tossed aside and totally forgotten as soon as possible f

Also if every argument you have against a group you don't like is "but what if they were [the Nazis, KKK, etc]????" then you're just admitting that the group you're complaining is distinct from those recognizable groups and distinct enough that you don't just call the group "neo-KKK" or some shit.

But hey.

This is the same group that seems to think Cuban (indigenous aside) is a "race" and thus calling a guy with a Cuban-American mom a class-related (not even "ethnic" or "racial") "slur" is "racist." No, he's just a gusano. A little slimy worm. For more information go watch or read transcripts from Fidel Castro's speeches. I guess the Cuban guy was just racist against all those Cuban-Americans who fled to Miami and then decided to keep trying to overthrow the revolution.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 24 points 6 months ago (1 children)

There aren’t really any indigenous Cubans anymore. They died several hundred years ago. I think Dominica is one of the few countries left with an actual indigenous Carib population and it’s tiny

[–] Justice@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I just remember looking into the demographics a few years ago (guess why...) and seeing some small percentage of Cubans identity as Taino. I'm not well-read... at all... so, just wanted to leave room for that exception.

On a tangent side thought I just had, I do enjoy how many Americans get incredibly butthurt over calling Cubans white. Like calling Che or Fidel white pisses off a lot of people. I don't really want to poke this bear, but it's kinda funny how just saying they were white will make such a wide group of people pull out calipers and demand I explain how I arrived at their whiteness.

Me when my slave plantation rises up and kills me: "But I let you elect your own head slave!! This is antidemocratic!!" porky-scared-flipped

[–] KurtVonnegut@hexbear.net 28 points 6 months ago

Why did John Brown not simply push the Whig party to the left? John Brown broke the law. He tried to steal someone's private property! How would you like it if someone came into your house and stole all your furniture, in the name of "freedom"? Also, he is a religious nut-job. I am SO GLAD we have BRAVE PATRIOTS like Robert E. Lee, to protect America from traitors. Anyone who votes for Lincoln in the next election is a fascist!

Back in the GG days I was following various anti-woke sources/creators (read kotakuinaction, watched JP, shoe, Chris ray gun, etc.). Since then I've obviously left that whole sphere (I mainly attribute this to innuendo studios tbh), but it's interesting to see that Brianna Wu has made just everyone dislike her. I hope she sees the light someday, because honestly it feels pretty weird to still be disliking one of the people GG attacked.

Edit: other notable figures in my radicalization are Hasan and second thought, and my wife and I have had a bit of a radicalizing feedback loop. Then I discovered lemmy during the API thing, found out about hexbear because of everyone talking about how scary it is, and choosing to check it out myself and finding it incredible based.

[–] hexaglycogen@hexbear.net 20 points 6 months ago

I'll be honest, I watched thunderf00t for like two videos making fun of solar panel roads because they're dumb, then I saw the anti feminist stuff and thought, hey this guy's a tool.

[–] Huldra@hexbear.net 17 points 6 months ago (2 children)

At this point I really dont think Brianna Wu has it in her to see any kind of light, shes just genuinely a craven social climber.

She was cozying up to transvestigators and posting some deranged shit accusing Brittney Griner of having a voice in the hertz range of literal subwoofers.

[–] Huldra@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago

Also claiming that she was spitballing hertz values from listening to one audio clip because she has "10 years of piano practice" which means that her brain automatically translates pitch to hertz.

If anything I would hope for her to just transition into posting more shit like this, she might end up at pre-president Trump tier posting if she keeps this up.

Trans peoole have an unfair advantage at the club because they have built in speakers

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 11 points 6 months ago

To me, Lemmy was always this rocker dude hanging out at the Rainbow Room looking for cocaine. Sounds like he now hosts an online place where leftists make libs feel unsafe?

[–] mechwarrior2@hexbear.net 40 points 6 months ago (3 children)

He'll no I don't believe in free speech that's lib nonsense

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 32 points 6 months ago

“Freedom of the press” is another of the principal slogans of “pure democracy”. And here, too, the workers know — and socialists everywhere have admitted it millions of times — that this freedom is a deception while the best printing presses and the biggest stocks of paper are appropriated by the capitalists and while capitalist rule over the press remains, a rule that is manifested throughout the world all the more strikingly, sharply, and cynically, the more democracy and the republican system are developed, as in America for example.

The first thing to do to win real equality and genuine democracy for the working people, for the workers and peasants, is to deprive capital of the possibility of hiring writers, buying up publishing houses, and hiring newspapers. And to do that the capitalists and exploiters have to be overthrown and their resistance suppressed.

The capitalists have always used the term ‘freedom’ to mean freedom for the rich to get richer and for the workers to starve to death.

In capitalist usage, freedom of the press means freedom of the rich to bribe the press, freedom to use their wealth to shape and fabricate so-called public opinion.

In this respect, too, the defenders of ‘pure democracy’ prove to be defenders of an utterly foul and venal system that gives the rich control over the mass media. They prove to be deceivers of the people who, with the aid of plausible, fine-sounding, but thoroughly false phrases, divert them from the concrete historical task of liberating the press from capitalist enslavement.

The only people who believe in absolute, unrestricted free speech are weird ancap types. The average run of the mill lib doesn't believe in it, none of the countries they stan have unrestricted free speech laws, and the facists obviously don't believe in it either.

At this point terrorism just means military action done by Brown people. And what the fuck else is military action if not a means to an end.

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 6 points 6 months ago

Always has. The term as we know it was largely ressurected in to political language by Bibi of all fucking people to delegitimize Palestinian political efforts.

Fascism (n): An angry noise I make with my mouth at someone I don't like

[–] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 33 points 6 months ago

She didn't "cone to believe" anything. Correct me if I am wrong, has this person ever express sympathy for the "far left" or its causes?

[–] MolotovHalfEmpty@hexbear.net 32 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Says the woman who proudly and openly proclaimed she was a member of an online Nazi group. 🙄

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 32 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Dont come crying to us when your dogshit mates turn on you Bri, I was always more of a camembert fan myself anyway

[–] neroiscariot@hexbear.net 10 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It'll be hard for her to muenster support

[–] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 30 points 6 months ago

She's right. As a far leftist, I love to commit acts of terrorism (post on hexbear)

[–] T34_69@hexbear.net 29 points 6 months ago

... Terrorism is a means to an end, it's like, the most "means to an end" a political action can be

[–] Cummunism@hexbear.net 24 points 6 months ago

fascism is under capitalism. that's not the left.

i'm definitely authoritarian though, because of what i want to do to capitalists and white supremacists.

[–] FnordPrefect@hexbear.net 22 points 6 months ago

Does...does JohnnyP think that 'antidemocratic' means 'doesn't like democrats'?

Also, other people have called out the projection, but holy shit, your 'team' is using literal Nazi talking points/tactics, no imagination required!

[–] AmarkuntheGatherer@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 6 months ago

Reminder that there has been no regime even comparable to the terrorism of the current imperial hegemon in number or in scope.

In a sick, sordid way, libshit Wu is right. Leftists may make use of terrorism as a tool. But in the liberal ideology, terror is the means and the end.

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 19 points 6 months ago

All fascism is projection

[–] yewler@lemmygrad.ml 18 points 6 months ago

If a viewpoint is wrong, then it's not bad to silence it goddamn.

We had a protest on my campus recently and the entire news coverage was about how great it is that while the protest was happening, there were also counterprotests. And there's something so great and magical about my schools community that people who like genocide and those that don't can make their voices heard without resorting to violence.

My school issued a statement about the protests, not responding to the actual issues, but reaffirming their commitment to protecting the right to lawful protest (ie not being disruptive in any meaningful way).

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 17 points 6 months ago

Brianna Wu helping to justify my disbelief in freeze peach and western "democracy" lol.

[–] kashifshah@lemmy.sdf.org 16 points 6 months ago

ruling with the ax, a fascist makes. my way or the highway type shit is what she is talking about - pisses my radical moderate self off, every time

[–] idkmybffjoeysteel@hexbear.net 15 points 6 months ago

Spoken while suppressing free speech and protests, but they knew this obviously

[–] KittyBobo@hexbear.net 12 points 6 months ago

Terrorist I can accept

[–] itappearsthat@hexbear.net 10 points 6 months ago

in the lib mind you are a terrorist if you want a thing to actually change instead of being "seen" and "heard" about wanting it to change

[–] Red_sun_in_the_sky@lemmy.ml 8 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Brianna wu does not know meanings of words or is cunning enough to project. Cause brianna is a staunch zionist and even an american exceptionalist. Apparently anti genocide is a fringe left position. Brianna essentially spewing the "Oh nazis were nicer than the soviets ackshually". Albeit perfectly aligned with a fascist movement. Naive or purposely obscurant we'll never know. Anyways I think brianna sounds like a think tank cutout. She'll cite brookings on how nato never wanted to move eastward next. Probably did already with all the drivel she spews.
