Gawd how I love RussiaGate. It's so perfect. They prevented HillKween from Slaying. They are responsible for all the online disinformation! They stole my pants. Goddamn Putin

They stole my pants. Goddamn Putin

Carefully ya gotta check every inch of your room for Putin. He could be anywhere. Don't forget the sock drawer.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 17 points 8 months ago

Putinite agents carefully added moisture to my dryer through a hidden tube so my socks always come out slightly wet

maddow spent like 20 minutes rehashing the 2016 russian interference narrative and said nothing about the pied piper strategy, clinton not campaigning in wisconsin, nor last month's statement from putin about preferring biden to trump in the present.

i guess liberals can remember history more than a week if it's more convenient than what's actually happening.

last month's statement from putin about preferring biden to trump in the present

Really? Trump being elected would be a final blow for Ukraine.

[–] JohnBrownNote@hexbear.net 28 points 8 months ago (1 children)

President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would prefer to see U.S. President Joe Biden win a second term, describing him as more experienced and predictable than Donald Trump — even though Moscow strongly disagrees with the current administration’s policies.

Putin’s comments during an interview with Russian state television Wednesday were his first about the upcoming U.S. presidential election, likely to pit Biden against Trump. They were rare praise for Biden, a fierce critic of the Russian leader who has frequently lauded Trump.

“Biden, he’s more experienced, more predictable, he’s a politician of the old formation,” Putin said, when asked which candidate would be better for Russia. “But we will work with any U.S. leader whom the American people trust.”

It really is wild that dems want to constantly rehash 2016 considering, ya know, they blew the easiest election in a century in plain view of everybody.

And the lesson the dems took from that was to double down on everything that made her lose.

[–] davel@hexbear.net 28 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The Clintonian dynasty and their stans will never self-crit. They’ll blame anything & everything but themselves for 2016.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago

It truly was the beginning of "the democratic party cannot fail, it can only be failed" being the unironic party line

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 26 points 8 months ago

Biden winning 2020 pretty much ossified the conviction in the minds of liberals that they were right all along and 2016 was a "fluke/Russian hack/left-wing failure...etc"

Completely ignoring of course the fact it was covid that tanked Trump, not Biden

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago

But it was her turn...

[–] betelgeuse@hexbear.net 45 points 8 months ago (3 children)

So the Russians can hack our elections while losing a war against the mighty Ukraine? Impressive.

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 39 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Bit idea- liberal who says "they haven't even seen paved roads, but they know how to hack? Unlikely"

Wait a fucking minute, is that Jen Psaki? Biden's press secretary for like 2-3 years, lied all the time to cover for him? I sure bet we can rely on her to be unbiased.

[–] NewLeaf@hexbear.net 14 points 8 months ago

She went back to brunch so hard too. Biden got elected, and after she ran enough interference for him, she quit and got a job as a pundit on a 24 hour news channel

The funniest thing about Russiagate is that they couldn't come up with anything beyond, "the Russians are sowing discord by posting online about America". Not even hackers changing numbers or paying politicians off in a lobby group, just saying bad things to change people's mind in an election year. And liberals eat it up.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 20 points 8 months ago (4 children)

Russiagate is such a hot button topic for them too. They don't seem to ever ruminate the specific details of the "significant" role American intel agencies said Russia played in the election. And they ignore how that "significant" role becomes so minor with adequate context. I like to remind them that CNN gave Trump something like a billion dollars in free media in the 2016 campaign. And every media outlet was feeding on the "Trump news" trough to grab eyeballs, sell ads, etc.

In other news - libs love milking Trump's "bloodbath" soundbite. They can't seem to understand that betting worked up and frothing at the mouth about a one-word Trumpism is giving Trump yet more free media and making him live even more rent free in their heads.

RussiaGate is still an endless game of whack-a-mole on lemm.ml. I don’t even want to know what goes on at .world or reddit-logo.

Chris Hedges: Why Russiagate Won’t Go Away

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 30 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It's really the perfect "I don't need to self reflect" answer for libs. Why is Trump winning? Is it because Biden is unpopular? No! It's because the bad guys are doing it.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 38 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

America: elects a fascist kleptocrat

America: This is because somebody else.

Like, goddamn, Trump is the most American American to ever America. He is the indictment of how shitty this country can be. He's the low brow nouveau riche piece of shit this country produces. Tacky, gross, unpleasant, angry old white man. We mint motherfuckers like that. It's our goddamned national product.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That's what libs hate about him. He's the perfect representation of their country, and deep down, they know it and hate it. But unlike socialists who actually want to do something to fix or change that, they don't think there are any options other than trying to vote for a representative that lets them keep their heads in the sand.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 22 points 8 months ago

Exactly. They hate leftist critiques because they are salient. I think it's why they always end up punching left. Right wing critiques can be ignored because right wing ideology is transparently dogshit. Centrist liberalism is actually vulnerable to left criticism. And it makes them very upset.

Due to an unusually late and strong El Niño effect this year, Russian election interference season has started the earliest on record since 1976!

[–] buh@hexbear.net 26 points 8 months ago (1 children)

They start election interference season earlier every year 😒

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 21 points 8 months ago

The media was absolutely desperate to try to make the primaries a horse race so now that they finally had to admit what everybody knew 8 months ago, that it was gonna be Biden Trump, they've gotta come up with sonething else and the Russian interfearance shit had every lib in the country learning the names of third string state department ghouls.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

I swear to God there is almost nobody i want to yell "go away" at more than Hillary Clinton.

I mean, Kissinger is dead, so now Hilldawg is in the top spot.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 27 points 8 months ago (1 children)

"go away"

Me too.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is really dropping the football by not already having a 2016-themed musical called Hillary. Libs cannot get enough of her. More than anything else in the world - they want to her to win in 2016. And they'll never fully accept she didn't do it. These could be the lyrics to the lead song...

What if... (Oh, yes?)
What if... (Say more.)
What if... (Do tell!)

Hillary won! (Eff yeah!)

"Eff yeah" in matinees because children are more likely to be present but the full monty "Fuck yeah!" in evening performances. The Hillary merch shop instantly sells out of the two versions of the t-shirt every time they restock. And there's a bit of a scandal when LMM Productions starts aggressively suing even the tiniest stores (Esty, etc) for selling "Eff yeah"/"Fuck yeah!" t-shirts with the text in a font similar to the venerable HillaryFont™.

Damn, look at that photoshop job on Trump, I thought they were going for the "evil scary dictator" angle for their work, high contrast and intense lighting and such, not this "sad old man" angle, because if they try to do that, it will only make Biden stick out even more.
